  • YES. Socializing has reduced the quality of Newsvine significantly since its inception. Now Newsvine is little better than Digg (which is not saying very much). This is the first time I've bothered to log in for months.

  • Recipients would have to repay the state's initial $500 investment once they turn 18. This just seems to me that families in need would use the $500 when their child was born, and then the kid starts adulthood with -$500.

  • My only concern would be with the method in which the data was collected. Since it was a phone survey, obviously the only people who were able to respond would be those who a) had phones and b) had electrical power at the time that they were called.

  • I have never even tried to cite Wikipedia in a paper. It would be stupid to expect people to consider that a reliable enough source to base scholarly work on.
